Well, don't forget that people do have a good reason for having a knee-jerk reaction! I mean, even though I think they're wrong in this one instance, whitewashing is a serious issue and I understand having an immediate emotional reaction when it happens again, and not wanting (perhaps not having the energy) to look closer at the specific circumstances for this particular character.
